What Coop to Get?

I take a about 3-4 hrs for a hoop coop. Or any coop that's not a shed. Those are about 10hrs. Either way your looking 1 one day to build just about anything. 2nd. For 60$ that is a steal. I will buy that if you dont. 3rd. They need shelter and fast. 60$ easy to relocate. It's your best option. Take and upgrade later..... just my 2cents. Winter is coming fast and hard. So what ever your decision hope it's by this weekend. Good luck.

60 now. Upgrade. Resell get money back so it was free to you or if you upgrade that during the winter upgrade the resell price.... ok I'm done. Anymore of my 2cents I'll owe ya a quarter.

The fence in the background of these pictures is it. I'm sorry I don't have a better picture of the fencing. I can take one tomorrow. I've got an extra roll and a half of it I was gonna use to extend the pen.
It this kind of fence doesn't work I understand. I can get the other kind if need-be.

I'll ask if he has the time. He's got the electricity and drywall to fix, as well as 24hr work schedules, dr appointments, and his vacation.
Papa and I were supposed to build my prefab banty coop together. It took us like 2 weeks, and I did some of it by myself. I could have done most of it without him, except that it came with a defect that required remeasuring and cutting with the saw to make it fit together right.
It takes Papa ages to have time to get stuff done here at home >_<

Our Lowes does wood cutting. If he can't do it I guess I could get it cut there..

Thanks for all the helpful advice.

The goat fencing you have, imo, would not work to make your structure. The cattle panels would be best.

Use that fencing to make your fenced in run areas. Ideally running a couple of strands of electric fence around the perimeter to keep out predators too. I know all these things cost $$ and doing it all at once is not possible.
The main thing is to get your housing straightened out so your girls have some room and they are protected from the elements.
I agree, nesting boxes can be made from a lot of things - buckets, crates, totes all work.

Here is something for you to consider if you need something fast and of course budget minded. Not permanent , but will last a couple of years and can be redone. I have one of these, but do not use for chickens. Stays up all season until no longer needed/used. You can use the goat fencing you already have to attach to the poles. The poles can be pounded into the ground (depth determined by you) so they would be sturdy. Use lightweight tarps to cover sides over goat fencing.
If someone is reading this, and wants to be critical, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS A SUGGESTION, for someone that is in a pinch and needs a shelter NOW. With limited,,,,,

This is the one I have.
For a little more cash this one comes with sides.

You could use the goat fencing and this to make coop pretty secure.

The whole point of this coop is to keep the birds safe during the cold winter nights. Getting this mess and having to do all this extra work to make it work is pointless. The point of a shed or other means is it keeps the wind and snow and temperatures at tolerable levels. These carports and dog crates (pretty much what they are" are pointless if its "just spend a little more to make it right". She has a goat pin already why buy a dog pin? Why not show her how to do it right to begin with?

Pplleease dont waste your money. But whatever you decide to do keep us posted and pictures if you do build or whatnot. Take care. Good luck.

Oh, come on! You can't deny that's not a good deal to be had! She can just buy a few boards (or tarp) and cover up the sides..... dog kennels are the best for an enclosure and if you can pick one up for that low of a price, well doggone it (pun intended) grab it for later use even if you're not using it now! All she needs after that is to build a regular ol' box big enough for however many chickens she have and throw some roosts in there and she's all set!! And then she can thank me later with a 6 pack of my favorite beer.

I'm thinking it will work if they came with included top on these 2 kennel, I just checked and the separate top on the other listing is at 10x10 so it might not fit.
