What could kill and eat 30 chickens in 1 night and not leave a single body.

Honestly it sounds super stellar. I'd be in piggy heaven being able to hear and see that all day long. Again, said from a safe distance, but boy does that sound awesome.
It was fun working at the Range. Dangerous sometimes like when we had to go repair targets and had to clear the range of UXOs (unexploded ordinances). We had to find them, mark them with a flag, and record the gps coordinates. Without stepping on one and getting blown up. Then a hurt locker team would come in and either unarm, remove or do controlled demolition on the ordinances. The ranges were never "live" when we worked down range where the lead flys. MPMG, the multi-purpose machine gun and sniper scout range was really cool. They'd use 50cals to knock out moving targets at 1000-1500 meters. The Navy used to pull boats on trailers with guys on them through the range shredding targets with mini guns on the boats. Look on youtube for mini gun videos. They were hardcore! They would be at the range with these little 20 ft boats for a week, once they got there to the range they lived on those boats 24/7. once a day they would take turns to go empty the crapper buckets in the range facilities instead of dumping it overboard like when on River Patrol, but other than that, they never stepped foot off those boats.

Here's a few pics from today while feeding the birdies. I'll see if I have any of other birds that fly over regularly.

No increase here as to guv flights. Every couple months we get a new class at flight school. They start off nice weather day flights and 2 months later they fly in all weather with cockpit windows blacked out so they are forced to use instrumentation flight rules (IFR). Last class graduated before Xmas and is been pretty quite till yesterday. A new class started. They shouldn't start Dive Run live fire exercises for several weeks. When they do, you can hear the Rockets exploding and 30 cal chainguns from 15 miles away at Matteson Range where I used to work. It is one heck of a show to see them pop up over the pines, shred some targets with the 30 cal, then hit old Soviet tanks with rockets. It you are in the observation area, those rockets even shake the ground! Night Fire is best with all the Tracer Rounds flying.

Me being a Army brat, Marine daughter in law, wife & mother... You made me home sick!

This thread took quite the turn!
Yep. got off track some how.
With everything that that has been posted, I think that it was probably a Momma Coon and a bunch of her Juvies. I saw a huge Coon over 40 lbs not long ago cross the back yard and I bet she has younguns. The only cage trap I have isn't big enough for her but I'll make some snares. Even if a coon didn't do the Massacre, I don't need them any where near my chickens.

I would set the trap you have too. Maybe you can get some of the young coons.
