What could she be?

I have a hen that I got as a chick and was told she and her sister were both New Hampshire Reds. Her sister has the typical NHR coloring and lays light brown eggs. However, this hen is darker (more like an RIR) and lays darker brown eggs that have the most beautiful speckles. Is this also an NHR trait or could she be something else? These chicks were originally shipped from a hatchery and I got them from a woman on Freecycle who had ordered a batch of 24 pullets and 1 roo. Any ideas?

NH's have a wide variation in coloring in hatchery stock. Mine were positively orange and bright orange at that. And one laid a very dark egg similar to a Delaware egg. Cetawin's was a darker hen than mine were and probably closer to the standard.
