This gander started off the a swollen side of his face. Then his hair on the side of his face went missing.. I have no clue what this could be..

Maybe some kind of infection or fungus infection? Did you try calling local wild life authorities in your area and see if they will help? He needs vet care.

I can't seem to find any in my area. I'm going to keep looking though. And how would they be able to take him and treat him if they don't like to be held or touch? It seems like they would be hard to get a hold of.

They know how to do this call fish and wild life . Rehabbers a vet may know of someone.

there are way more than listed there though. In my area I tried "my area" + wildlife + spca and followed the google trail to a list of rehabbers 20 long in my city. But, they are pretty hard to get a hold of, and full up. So my other option is the spca wildlife program itself, which is in a centre next town over that has restricted operating hours and requires a cage / kennel to deliver the animal...
