Thank you so much... this group had some really weird feathers going on in the beginning too.. so when I saw this awhile back I just thought that’s the way they were... here’s pics of the weird tail feathers.. those fell out and new ones grew inThe one on the right might have an early case as well. Usually it can be the one with the perfect feathers that is doing the pecking. Pine tar rubbed on the area every day or two may be helpful in preventing this, and you can find it in the horse supplies at most feed stores. An alternative would be Nustock Cream. Both smell and taste undesirable to the chickens.
