What could this be??

I was outside tending to my chicks today and noticed some "strange" scat (pebbles) on the ground. I was wondering if anyone out there knew what kind of animal leaves "coco-puff" sized droppings? Just want to make sure my boys & girls aren't being visited/stalked by something sinister. Thank you so much in advance for any thoughts. (Sorry no photo...the baby kept trying to play in the scat, so I thought better of it).

Sounds like it could be a variety of things. Rabbits, sheep, goats, and deer all leave that kind of dropping!!

My first thought is a cottontail rabbit. Don't know of any predator that would have scat as you described.

Sounds like a rabbit. And unless you have the Monty Python variety, I'm sure nothing to worry about, lol.
