No he was a very beutiful barred pattern it was exactly a Plymouth Rock pattern.I crossed him with his sister before i maked him a diiner and i had 3 chicks, i had a problem with the chickens so i gived the chicks to a friend of mine when i comed to take them back all the chicks died because he put the chicks with some older chicks and they killed them they were i dont kno why but they had the dark brahma pattern but lighter
She isn't barred. Barred hen x unbarred rooster makes sexlinked chicks- barred roosters and unbarred hens.
Really? I was expecting him to have a somewhat messy pattern with the Columbian gene + 1 copy of the barring gene. My Buff Orpington/Barred Rock cross.
I didn't say she was barred, I said she's pencilled, & Pencilling forms nicely with the barring gene.

Okay. He still only had 1 Barring gene B/b+, so he's single Barred, & must've had more of the extended black genes.
How would barring effect the penciling if she doesn't have any barring?
It's expressed through pencilling as the Pg, Patterning gene which is just a mutation in the barring gene itself.
