What day is it on my incubator?

I have an incubator that didn't show day 1 until a day had gone by. This tells me that the day indicator is tell me how many days have gone by. Therefore, do I set lock down when it shows day 17 since 17 days have gone by and we are now on day 18 or do 18 days need to go by for lock down? They were set on 1/15/2018 and it is now 2/1/2018.

I don't get caught up in those details. Day 17, day 18 either will be fine. The important thing is that your air cells are the correct size. You should be fine tuning that by day 14. (which will be this Thursday.) If you set eggs on a Thursday, they should hatch on a Thursday (more or less). How are the eggs looking so far?

I'm pretty sure that incubators don't count day 1 on purpose--it's day 0.
