Do you live in an area where there are bobcats? The reason I ask is because we do and I was told that all they leave are feathers because they take thier prey off to eat.

edited because I forgot most important thing: I'm SO SORRY!

Our fox has made off with entire chickens and left only feathers. He has also left headless corpses and partially eaten corpses. We know it is a fox, we have seen him.

iv had two whole flocks killed in the past. didnt know for awhile but the last time they got killed i left them in the coop to try to see if whatever it was would come back well it did it was the man up the roads duck dog black lab. well i gave him a call he said i let him lose at night. told him to keep him up or i would kill him told the man to his face now........ one week later he was back and at my chickens again needless to say buckshot ended that story. now i just let them out about an hour befor dark and watch them while they are out when they go to roost i lock the gate. and i did cement the bottom edges of my fence. no problems sence.

I'm so sorry about your roo...

My guess would be a fox. I've had fox attacks and all that's left are feathers.

I would just as likely guess a coyote as they are just as common as foxes these days.
