What did my girl just lay with her egg??

I collected eggs this evening and found this egg with what looks like a soft deflated egg stuck to it. Any ideas??

Exactly what it looks like. Something in your hen glitched and tried to produce an extra egg. It's nothing to be worried about if it doesn't happen again.

I agree, not a cause for concern (unless it keeps up)... Its just a peculiar little happening!

I’m not certain which hen layed this. I’m not certain of the age of any of the hens I have. My flock was killed except for 1,something got in their coop one night. My neighbor had a surplus and gave me 9, and I got one hen and a rooster from another friend. They are a mixed bag!

Chickens are not machines and sometimes they have a oops egg, just watch to see if anyone’s looking at odds ....

So it was a thick softshell?
It looked like it might be a 'lash egg'.

I'm thinking lash egg too. I just got done reading a few articles on them just earlier today, and as soon as the picture popped up, that's what it looks like.
