What did you do in the garden today?

I got my raised beds topped off. I planted one with lettuce, turnip, radish, carrots, and beets. Got the plastic on the hoops and said a little prayer.

Deciding what to put in the other bed that's ready........

Tomorrow I work on clearing the raspberries that never produced. I will use that space for squash both summer and winter.

I am holding off one more week for starting peppers, tomatoes and maybe even some flowers.

It feels good to be able to work in the dirt again.

Oh PLEASE
NOT another one!!! 20 inches added to the previous storm. How much for this storm?Winter arrived just in time for spring!:lau

Potted up eggplant seeds started on moist napkin. Watered today when most were wilting.

Looked at long purple eggplants potted up several days ago. Dang they look sad. Only need half. :fl

Looking at tomatillo, bunching onions, and collards that need seeding tonight.:th

Current storm was at least 24".

We got a few more inches of snow last week. None of it has been lake effect for the most part... We're mostly out of the woods for that.
The tomatoes are sprouting. As predicted I have waaaay more than I need. The basil is also being especially prolific. I just planted a bunch of kale but the peat pots aren't wicking water from their tray properly and idk why. Maybe they just need to be dampened first. Now it's time to get the cauliflower started too.

My seed company has delayed shipments of my peas until the 26th. I am very annoyed, they've delayed shipping on it a few times now and if they don't show up pretty close to the 26th I won't be able to plant em and have enough time for them to grow. :T

My strawberry roots arrived yesterday! I've got 75 plants that I'm going to put in three different places--in the raised bed with the garlic and onions, in the front flower bed and in the berry patch with the blackberries. We had a frost the day before yesterday and an almost-frost last night. LAME! I got the frost blankets out in time.

I've seeded carrots and radishes in with the greens raised bed. And the bok choi, etc. in the redneck cold frame are looking good. I need to look at what else to start this weekend. :)

Can you cancel shipment and pick them up locally?

This is different than what I usually do . The greenhouse is 6 x 8 . I normally put in a double 50' row . Since I have to leave in early June I thought extra heat would ensure the peas are ready to pick before I leave . Tilled the area so after I lunch I will go plant and move the greenhouse .
