What did you do in the garden today?

Only 3 of my broccoli plants survived, and won't flower, so I'm letting them get big and leafy to feed to my hens.

It’s been 95 for day 3. Been at Smith Mountain Lake with family for a few days. Probably coming back to huge bug infestation and some crushed veggies. My husband has been wonderful about watering but he’s sooo clumsy and usually steps on things. Can’t tell him that cause he’s trying but he’s got a brown thumb. Keeping my fingers crossed to what I come home to. Picked lots of squash and kale to bring

Heat index is 109 here today. Wheee! I've got frozen water bottles in the waterers and I dug a couple of holes under the hedge. I've got my son going out with watermelon at noon for the poor hot chickens.

I think Nature skipped spring this year. Don’t know heat index but I know that I want to. I’m staying inside after 12. They have AC at this house!
