I don’t mind them eating the berries. The wire keeps them from digging and ripping up the plants. The strawberries are everbearing so I get Tons all season! And the chickens are so well trained they wait for me to pick them lol...or should I say they’re just lazy! They actually get tired of eating them if you can believe that. They like the bugs more than the berries. So can't they just get up in there and shove their heads through and steal berries still?

Mine are the same way with tomatoes. By week 2 of my throwing cherry tomatoes over the fence they give me the stink eye. "NO MORE 'maters or hornworms." "We can't eat one more, nope, not one more!" "I'll go broody if you make me eat one more tomato"Yep!!! They do!
Their so funny if I throw them on the ground they all go after them. But on the plant they don’t bother them. And after a week of strawberries they just walk away from them. How lucky am I ?
