What did you do in the garden today?

I have the windows open! Our crocuses are finally coming up, all the hens are laying (even my defective Ameraucana). and it's so lovely out! I'm going to spend some more time today tidying up the yards so that doing things in the garden is a little easier.

I need to get some new grass seed down in the back yard and carefully monitor weed growth in one particular shady patch that was growing hemlock(!!!) last year. I removed all the tops before they could go to seed and pulled a bunch last year but I know I didn't get it all. It's all along the fenceline and the neighbor doesn't weed that particular part of his side of the fenceline because it's a 3' gap between the fence and the garage and it's a pain to get to... So the weeds can just grow there like crazy.

Hey, stuff happens. I took a tumble stepping down from my garden. Nothing broke. I had my doctor check me out for inner ear problems because I thought I had lost my balance. Turns out there was a loose stone on the top step. Stuff happens. At least I know my old bones aren't brittle. :old
My DH tripped on a black scuff mark on the floor. Yup, a totally flat, black mark on the floor. He said it looked like something he shouldn't step on or over in the corner of his vision, so he didn't. LOL. EH, Gravity happens and will always win.

I've had my share of falls and injuries, even though I am 22. Once, I cut myself while pumpkin carving, and I had to go to the ER. It was that bad. To make things worse, I was wearing a white shirt at the time, which was stained red around the chest with blood. When I got to the ER, they thought I was shot.

I had to say, "Its my finger. I wasnt shot."

They had to tourniquete my finger, and stitch me up.

That was 2016, I still have the scar.

In 2003, a similar incident happened, still have the scar.

I use the scars as reminders that knives need to be used safely, or you can be hurt.

It’s time to just buy the ceramic ones from Kroger’s and just put a candle in it for you I’m afraid. :)
