What did you do in the garden today?

My Caan plant has started to leaf. Made it through it’s second winter.

I think foxes are awesome and beautiful, but not when they are out there all hours of the day trying to kill my birds.

Love my woods coop.

Only made it to a damp 50 degrees. I finished cleaning the workshop today, but didn't get to the garden. The sun will be out tomorrow, so I'll get mulch down and supports up tomorrow. I'd rather work in the sun than in cold, wind, and clouds. It just feels nicer.

Just a thought. Potatoes do like sandy soils. I know of some peeps up in Northern Wisconsin that cultivate potatoes. The soil in their area is IDEAL for potatoes. No farmers in my area grow potatoes to any extent due to soil.
What I am suggesting if possible for you is; Mix sand to your clay type soil (in area where you will plant potatoes) and see if you get good results:idunno

Thank you for the suggestion! I can do that. We actually have quite a bit of sand in the soil in other areas, so it would be easy to move some. The sandy soil is down by the river on the back side of our property.

Beautiful Coop. Love the color TOO.

Cold and rain here as well. The sun peeked out for about 5 minutes yesterday then disappeared again. The grass is growing like crazy and the only dry weather forecasted is 4 days away. I don't think my tomato plants are going to make it after the beating they took in the storm that came through last Sunday night. I think the lack of sunshine made it too hard to recover. I need to thin the peas so hopefully there will be a break from the rain today so I can do that. It's May now, you'd think the rain could ease up a bit. I'm beginning to consider hydroponic gardening. LOL!
