What did you do in the garden today?

It was another beautiful day.
I got my tomato bed filled with soil & ready to go. Only took 8 wheelbarrows full. I think I blew up my food processor grinding egg shells. :rant
Thank goodness for zip ties! I had HWC cut for the chicken run already.
I put 2 sides up with it so the bed is secure (from chickens) it’ll do for now. I’m going to bring my patio plants out next weekend. We still have cold nights and light frosty mornings.

Managed to get the supports in the garden up yesterday. I was 4 short. How that happened I have NO idea.

I put down mulch in the walkways. I was ridiculously short in that area. That happened because I only had so much room on the trailer that last trip to the city.

When DH got home last night we went back to town to get 35 more bags and 4 more panels. I'll work on that today as the rains are coming again.

I picked up two more raspberry and blackberry plants and some herbs. I only grabbed tarragon and basil. They didn't have oregano. WHO doesn't sell oregano?!

Fox was back last night. Just ran through. Night time sight seeing is fine, no shopping.

OK heading out to spread mulch.

Have a productive day all.

The mulch on the walkways are so helpful with all the rain. I need to buy more as well. The first layer I put down seemed to thin down after being pounded by rain. But it still makes it easier to garden on a rainy day.

Could be. They shipped it to me a full month before I expected them to ship. It was way too cold (and ridiculously wet) to plant. I've been trying to be good about not overwatering them, too. I called the company today since these spots have been on the leaves and have gotten worse since we got them. Sounds like the call center is in another country (I'll give you one guess as to which country), and the person was only reading from a script. They told me they shipped in a dormant state (hmmm...they had full green, new leaves on them - not dormant), and that they needed to be put in the ground when I got them at end of March.....!!! Ummm, it was still freezing here, raining, and high winds often...not the time to plant young, un-established plants. They need to be established, then they can go through the winter. Well, I sent the company an email...maybe I'll get a response, and maybe it will contain some information.

Hi @Acre4Me. Check this website out. https://homeguides.sfgate.com/raspberry-leaves-turn-brown-73816.html It sounds like it is either too much fertilizer or to little. If they were my plants I would remove the damaged leaves just in case it is a fungus or a very tiny bug. Good luck.

Those look yummy. I need to take a class on mushroom identification. I have woods beyond my fenced backyard and I want to be certain any shrooms I pick are not poisonous.
I feel so productive finally. There was enough of a break in the rain yesterday I was able to put the frame for the run extension up with HC on the bottom. It was still really wet but I used a plastic garbage bag when I had to kneel on the ground to screw the bottom boards together. I got all my tools picked up and went inside for lunch. As soon as I got through the door it poured again. The rain is supposed to clear out later this morning and hold off until tomorrow. I'm hoping to get the roof on the run and haul dirt to cover the HC. I really want to finish planting the rest of my plants outside, maybe today. First I need to thin the pea plants. They're liking this crappy weather.

I am watching it thunder and pour down rain, even though I have a dozen things to do outside today. Need to mulch the rose and lily beds, need to mulch the chicken run, need to put down fresh straw and grass in the run, need to plant tomatoes and peppers, need to net over the berry patch, need to dead-head the roses, need to plant the heuchera....ugh. RAIN.

Same here. So much rain and the GLOOM! Ugh! We have barely seen the sun since NOVEMBER!
I have not been able to get my garden tilled up due to all the rain. The seeds I started on the first day of spring are quickly outgrowing their pots. I may actually skip the till this year and plant my vegetables in the ground as-is and just weed around them.
