What did you do in the garden today?

Moved dirt.
After the last rain (3 days worth) I just had to wait till things dried out. My goal is to divert runoff. And create a little pond that drains quickly.
Did 8 wheelbarrows and my hip had nothing to say to me.
So I’m thinking these are the before pictures. Now watch...it won’t rain lol.
I even backed my car out for a Country Car Wash.

Got up at dawn to punch the rest of the holes in the irrigation tubing. by 11am it was 85 degrees already. I need to make 5 more feed lines, which is quick, and shove them in the holes I made this morning. (I ran short) Tie the feeder lines to the supports, and replace the mulch. I need to replace my expanding hose to the barn with a real one and get the alpacas hosed off. THEN I'm going to install a stall fan for them. No more box fans. Sick of replacing them.

More sunscreen. more sunscreen. more sunscreen. My UV meter is going off every flipping 12 minutes! Insanity!

I also have a broody hatching one egg today. It's zipping away. So a couple more hours until we see little Opie or Hermione. Splash, black, or blue copper french marans.

You mentioned not havi g space for pumpkins in another post. Have you considered going vertical? I've read that people have great results that way. With melons too, you just need a way to support the fruit while it grows.
im growing cantaloupe vertically up a chain link fence and pumpkins (small sugar) vertically also over an arch. Did the pumpkins on the arbor last year and worked well till the squash bugs destroyed it. It helps me get as much room as possible

I'm curious what you use to support the fruit. I had a neighbor who used her old tights, pantyhose and knee highs after she retired.

It rained.
All day.
My car is nice and clean.
It was a moderate rain that really gave us a good drink. The 40mph wind gust came through for a good hour straight.
I’m still waiting another week to bring out my patio plants. Tonight the low is predicted to be 36.
With this moisture I’m sure it’ll feel colder and there’ll be frost.

I used those netted bags that lemons or oranges come in. I just save them and so does my mother (as long as I share with her) and those seem to work well. I’ve heard pantyhose but I can’t tell you last time I wore a pair of those

Is that where you buried the body?

Good morning gardeners. I finished planting my herb garden beds yesterday. I scattered wildflower seeds through out as well. I'm getting a nice gentle rain right now. This is just perfect for giving all the newly planted stuff a nice drink. Everything is planted except for squash plants, hot peppers and chard. It feels a bit weird not having a lot of construction projects to do. After I finish designing and installing the poop boards in the chicken coop I can put my power tools away. Now I can sit back and watch the plants grow. Happy gardening.
Hi @MissChick@dee, love the dirt piles. Mine is finally out of my driveway.
