What did you do in the garden today?

Good afternoon gardeners:frow

I'm sitting here at my desk watching the wind blow and clouds come and go. We are 20* below normal temps which is kind of nice. I did find another tomato that's just beginning to blush. Goid thing because igor will be miffed that 'm giving the ripe one on the counter to my mom tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone:)

Something got all my strawberries last night! Every single one that was turning red is gone. Both the ones in the ground and the ones in the tub near the house! :barnie
Check for footprints, 2 or 4 legs???

Good morning gardeners. Hope everyone made it safely through the night. Lots of tornado activity in Missouri. Very sad. I managed to get my backyard mowed and trimmed yesterday. The garden is doing well except the tomatoes are still on the weak side. I need to do more thinning in the spinach, turnips and leeks. More pole beans are breaking through the soil. I should have my first radishes in another week or two at the very latest. Have a great day everyone.

hello everyone I was weeding round the pond earlier on and stepped back onto the rake I forgot was there now got a lovely bruise swelling and very tender cheekbone lucky my glasses didn,t break I gave up weeding ,now I,ve just finished cutting 20ft long hedge praying all the time nothing else happened the weather is really hot out today so when I,ve had a rest going out to do something else lots more weeding to do but the rake will be at the other end of the garden .no sigh of my beans sprouting but beetroot doing well ,carrots just showing tomatoes and courgettes slow have to water tonight

No footprints...ground is too hard. It had to be an animal, though. Where we live it is not conducive to people just wandering by. Our neeighbors have a better garden than we do. We have a family of deer that come by regularly. I just didn't think they would get the ines near the house! I did ask my kids first, but they were super disappointed as they had been waiting for the strawberries to ripen.

Totally understand it...... but look at the positive. :love
Consider it as SHARING.
Those deer do not have one of these,,,

and can not go to the grocery store to get some for their breakfast.
I on the other hand am able to get to the store, and stock up on these year round. (for the most of the year) I like them when they are super abundant and on SALE:thumbsup
My typical breakfast.

So my attitude about garden items, (including flowers) is same as with my chickens, and predators. I try to protect them both BEST that I can:thumbsup
I need to do this to prevent my tree mice :gig(squirrels) from tearing up my flower pot soil plantings.

Yes:barnie I know it looks messy. The maple seeds are coming down as if it is snowing:old When the flowers start growing thru the wire, I remove and replace with the cylindrical cages.

Those cylindrical cages that I make keeps the squirrels out as well as support the flowers as they grow for a nice showing. :)

And just wanted to share some of my repurpose items. The playhouse does not get much use by grandchildren, but it does add to the patio decor.:) Of course I do like to utilize things fully.

Inside we keep their outdoor toys. This way after they finish playing, we do not trip over them.:idunno
Those hanging baskets were such a good deal,,,,,,,,, I had to control my self with the amount I purchased. I think it was 8 or 10 that I purchased. When the of-springs came over last weekend, I told them to help themselves with whatever they desired for their home yard:love
