What did you do in the garden today?

The gnats are super bad this year to the point that we didn’t even sit outside last night.
Again here with some possible solution.. We do not get gnats here much but do raise a healthy crop of mosquitoes. In the eve if we want to sit on the patio and enjoy the fresh air,,,,, I have 2 older box fans designated for outdoor use. (retired from home use due to age:old, and they are just not that pretty any more)
In the airflow,,,,,, the mosquitoes do not land on us and we don't get bit. What I'm actually producing is artificial wind.:thumbsup
Maybe the same would work for gnats.???

I'm really surprised the Critter Ridder didn't work. What I have on hand is the pellets and what I've used in the past was the spray. So confusing. Hey @cavemanrich, let me know if it works for you.

Is working. I got the granular, and shake some onto the soil in the pots. It rained,,,,, so will have to reapply. I think the spray liquid is fine,,,, but may wash off with rain sooner. We had the RAINIEST MAY since the time of NOAH.

I asked DS to turn off the garden irrigation last night. He forgot. Walked right past it and did something else.

My garden watered for 24 hours......THANK GOODNESS I'm on a hill. Drip irrigation was set at .5 gallons per hour per head.....looking at about 800 gallons of water. Thank goodness we're on a well and not city water!

OH well. What can you do.

I hate to admit that I have done that as well, only we are not on well water. :barnie Plus it was my own fault, I can't even blame it on anyone else. Oh, and it wasn't set up for drip irrigation. It was just flat out on to refill chicken waterers ( small plastic swimming pools).
I found that it was still running when I got home from work. Fortunately, I haven't done that in a long while.

I picked up LOTS of branches that were knocked down last night in the storm.

Good morning gardeners. Not getting off to a great start. Yesterday afternoon I noted something had been munching the lettuce in the garden so I opened up the Critter Ridder. I'm guessing this critter thought it was a condiment and came back for more. I got the lettuce, the radish tops, the broccoli and even started munching the peas and green beans. This was before my second cup of coffee. Ugh! I noticed they had not touched the beds with the onions in it so I cut up an onion and spread it all over. Hopefully this will keep them away until I can get the store to get some netting. I suspect rabbits. I've not seen many rabbits around here but these contractors have been clearing the property next to my neighbor on the side where the garden is. I suspect whatever had been living and eating there has been displaced and are happy to have discovered the garden. Oh, they even munched on the marigolds. We had heavy rain and thunderstorms overnight so they had to be really quick with their plundering. I hope everyone else is having a better day. :he

I have had the same issues with an increase in rabbits. The land across the street from us has also been cleared in the past month and they are building a house. I didn't even connect the two until your post. That has to be the reason.
