Aloha kakahiaka gardeners!
I have been enjoying catching up on some of your garden posts. All sounds super yummy and I like the photos when added. So glad all are enjoying their well deserved growing season... I do wish for more photos

hint-hint. Also- thank you for the hot (no pun intended) tip of canning on the BBQ side burner... I like that idea a lot and will consider that when getting our next BBQ

Here- Hot, humid, temps in the high 80's to low 90's. Grandpa's avocado tree planted in the early 50's, abused and left for dead, is about to give us a second year of fruit! It's been 8 years in the healing -amazing what a little care (trim, compost and water) can accomplish. Last year it gave us all it could- 5 avo's. This year we still have about 50 hanging on. The plan was for grafting- big buttery, meaty, small seed- but i'm hopeful for fruit too.

Along with all of the mango trees having a bumper crop, our star fruit (carambola) tree is loaded. Great low sugar fruit that tastes like grapes.

In my veggie garden- ALL of the garden stores did not have the tomato seeds or even plants that will do well for our climate in the fall/summer, and it's too hot for most everything else. So I did not bother to plant much of anything after the bugs and heat took about all of my lettuce and arugula.

I worked on extending my coop with 8' of breathable roosting (need to finish my access door) instead of trying to garden in the heat. Little girls get to join the big girls with only little squabbling. Plus secured shade cloth.

With the exception of yard maintenance I am staying out of the sun as much as possible but our lawn is a killer and it takes me a day to recover from mowing it

lol.
