Hello, is there room for me? I brought sourdough starter.
I love this thread so much! I’m new here and actually quite new to gardening as well. I have a 1/8 acre rural development lot that I’m trying to turn into a micro-homestead now that my kiddos are old enough to help out (and be gone for a chunk of the day haha!)
My main goal is to use some permaculture techniques along with some traditional raised bed stuff so that we can grow a good chunk of our food during our somewhat short season.
Just in the last 3 weeks I’ve put in 4 orchard fruit trees and built a compost station out of recycled pallets. The Quack Shack is going up today, and a repurposed bathtub (now duck pond) has gone into the ground with a drain pipe and is ready to rock.
Oh, and I built a second small greenhouse for when my starts are ready to go out.
Now, if only the weather would warm up!

@penny1960 question about growing potatoes in a bag...how tall do you let the tops get before you add more soil?
I just got the news that my mom has to have surgery today at 4:30 to clean out her infected knee. The infection has spread to her blood.
Thanks Penny!I was taught to add soil you wanted then bury them like 3 potato deep.. wait for the plant to start to turn then dig
Karen I will keep your Mother in my prayers
