What did you do in the garden today?

Last three days we had a strom front blowing lots of cold rain over the country. So I just checked if the coop is okay and my birds are save and dry. The run cover needs some fixing, but so far everything still stands. Discovered that a cross the street a big old apple tree didn't make it and a big weeping willow is not that big anymore. Good thing is that my little new garden pond ist now full with water to the brim.
It's still windy, wet and cold, but my chickens came out of the coop and enjoyed looking for drowned beatles and worms before hopping back inside avoiding the next rain shower.
The weather channel promised some sunny easter days so I go through my seed packs figuring out what to plant next.

Cutechicken-- From the picture posted, the plant doesnt look like a blueberry plant. Being a good Mainer, I've picked my share from wild bushes and that plant doesnt look like a blueberry. Could it be something else????????

Gosh what a good time to get cuttings from an old apple tree . . . ..

I got it from Lowes, so I don't know if it is blueberry or not. The tag said it was blueberry, and I bought another variety of blueberries with berries on it, and the have the same thing going on. @Arielle @alldembirds. @erinszoo I actually haven't put any compost or fertilizer in it! And yes it is dry here. Like you said, it could've gotten of track.

Quote: me too. I thought it looked more like a jasmine, but I believe jasmine have opposite leaves.

Thanks everyone for the burning trees answer. I think we'll do it on Monday and see how it goes this year. :)

The blueberry doesn't look anything like our three blueberry bushes either. Not a berry person though, so it may just be an odd store variety.

Definitely the first step is to find out what it is. THat would help with the basics like: lighting, soil, pH and watering schedule, oooo and fertilizing schedule. IT could be have the health problems just because its not in the right environment.

IT is not a blueberry. Maybe poke around that nursery and look for a look a like p lant to get the name. DOnt count on the assistants to help you get the right information as they are usually not trained at the big box stores.

there are over 150 different blueberry cultivars so it could still very well be a blueberry..
