What did you do in the garden today?

Cloudy and cool again this morning. I'm planning on putting wind covers on the squash plants this morning. It doesn't stop the wind, but slows it down so the plants can get used to being beaten about.

Guy was delivering the neighbor's tractor from the shop (oil leak repair) and I asked him, as long as he was there with a trailer, if he would take mine INTO the shop for it's annual oil change and fluids check. One less thing I have to do this year. So off she went.

@Sueby I have them for fleece, yes. Plus they are awesome entertaining pets. I sell their yarn on my etsy shop and I have the non-prime fleece made into high end weaving yarns for me. A couple of the boys scream and holler a fright when being sheared, but the rest all know how good it feels to be done. Luckily, we haven't had a long stretch of miserably hot weather yet.

Still in my comfy PJ's and staring at my old work suspenders and kinda dreading going out and getting dirty today. Looks like it will get into the mid 80's with little breeze. Lots to do... going to load a few logs and deliver to a friend for her mushroom adventure, drop some plants at another friends b4 they outgrow pots, clean coops, dismantle XL cage and clean out old brooder and store, rearrange chicken run furniture, cage brooder, look for roofing tin...
DH wants to mow the lawn so that means I need to weedwhack... :hmm well as @WthrLady says... that's the plan anyways... :p. I'll probably trow my back out with the logs and hafta call it quits... watch boat building (or horse training or logging) on YouTube with DH... lol

One a side note- my chickens seem to be scared or overwhelmed or... underwhelmed by the gift of dried leaves last eve. No scratching activity at all. Crazy/weird.
K. Have a fantastic day all!!! Stay well 😷🤙
Mine are terrified of the pine shaving bags. THey're OK once I spread it and remove the bags, but when I show up with that big cube, they FREAK OUT!

So we have a new dog that we have vetted and neutered. We had strong words today as I pulled another chicken from his mouth. It seems he wont be moving north fast enough for my tastes. You can't blame him he was never trained. UPS will be fixing that today as this dog thinks he is faster than me. He will learn radio collars work as fast as a human voice, btw, it isn't a training method I recommend easily. But after putting down one cat this week from his antics and watching my wife cry I'm going there.

His name is Bo or NoBo, he is a really great animal. He is just a bit remedial.

@igorsMistress I know what you mean! I slept with a heating pad last night and had hubby rub my back and put arnicare gel on my back. My wagon loads will be much lighter today!! :lau I also got the grass cut and the poison ivy sprayed (with Roundup) yesterday.
Edited to add: Our weather calls for thunderstorms starting on Saturday and lasting through Friday :eek:and then rain on the next Saturday. My vegetables may need boats or life preservers!

Awe, sorry you're having issues with the pooch. Good luck, I hope he learns quickly!

I finally used biofreeze, that stuff works wonders and has arnica in it as well.

So it seems we will never need to escalate or test the shock features as vibrate was terrifying enough. The beeping noise had no effect though. Time will tell with this animal as he will be geting a good hearing test this week.
