What did you do in the garden today?

Beautiful! I was thinking about zinnias but yeah, the blue would work over there you're right! Thanks :highfive:I think Plumbago gets too big for the space I have, too bad because I've always liked it.
Yes, Plumbago can be too much of a plant at times but for me it has survived in areas where nothing else would survive and looks good doing it lol. They can be lots of work as big as I keep them too, but auntie likes them, so it's good.
Dahlias and Glads ... i'm a little jealous but look forward to the photos  he he no pressure.

I've got glads now but no flowers yet. I'm thinking about revamping my shaded garden bed. Lots of things could have better placement so pics will be a bit yet! Lots of things on my fall to do list already.

Pretty sure I posted this a while back, but in my last home in Ohio, I grew Tree Peonies. The woody stem stays above ground in the winter. Every year it gets taller with more branches. This one was around 7 years old. It took about 5 years to bloom bc they need to have at least 5 nodes (?) below ground and they only produce 1 per year. They do not attract ants (like regular peonies do). I really loved them, but have yet to determine a place for them here, but it is my plan to get a few in the future. The little friend in the pic is about 1.5 or so years old. Huge Blooms, and very fragrant. @NewBoots, @TropicalBabies @igorsMistress

I had Glads on Maui but they always looked stressed and a little out of place. They would REALLY not like where I live now lol. I seriously need to move somewhere that has cooler weather where I can enjoy growing more and have more chickens and horses lol. Till then, i'll just dream of fall when all looks brighter.

Those are gorgeous! I would love to grow them here but I think it's too hot.

Our daytime temps have been up to 112 here so it's not cool :sick I have them where they get afternoon shade though.

Had to drop off for a while—busy in the garden, mostly!—but wanted to pop in and say hello! I hope everyone's garden is doing well! Our tomatoes look good, but squirrels or raccoons have been tearing up the other seedlings. We just covered the beds with polypropylene hardware cloth on Sunday after church; hoping they protect the next batch of seedlings.

For fat country squirrel, please send a self-addressed, stamped dry ice pack to...

;D

Galadriel the chicken. She has earned "live with us till dead" status. She is calmer and tolerates attention better than our cat. So, the teen takes Galadriel (and only Galadriel) to the patch of clover that is my cover crop in the large garden bed (along with a few random pumpkin plants) so she can nosh on some clover. Cute how she has clover coming out of her beak!
