What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning gardeners. I'm headed out to water in a minute but wanted to share a pic of the babies. I put them under the broody last night. Happy Thursday!

Morning all! Some day I'd love to have a broody raise chicks for me, it must be such a cool thing.

@Acre4Me I want to see a pic of that huge squash now!

I gave up on waiting for DH to make me my potting bench so I ordered one. Also snagged a little hand sink on FB for it too. He's gonna be so happy when I tell him that not only does he have to assemble it, he also needs to modify with water & a sink. :lau

Have a great day all!

Good morning gardeners. Just a quick hello and update. The appraiser will be here within the hour. One of my little BO's laid their first egg yesterday. Surprise, surprise. I didn't expect this so early so now I need to get them integrated quickly. Yesterday "free range" time went well. Just to keep things peaceful I tossed scratch around and the hens seemed more interested in that then picking on the littles. Another chilly morning. It was 50F when I got up. Picked some more "blushing" tomatoes, two zucchinis, two pole beans and an okra. One of my darling little wild things helped themselves to one of the tomatoes. I guess they figured if I was picking them early then they must be tasty. I will be watering the garden after the appraiser is finished. We've only had a few scattered showers and everything is really dry. My cucumber plants are loaded with tiny cukes so hoping the warm weather returns in time to help them grow. Gotta go now. Have a great day everyone.

Are you my long lost sister Sueby? I would do that to Igor!

The appraisal is all done. Now I can breathe a little easier. OK, I posted the wrong picture for today's "haul." Also, I was really wanting to make my go to curry dish tonight but I needed potatoes. I really don't want to go to the store today. So I dug up the deadest looking potato plant. These little beauties were really deep so I need to get out the pitchfork and look for more later. together they weigh 12 ounces. That's more than enough for my curry dish. Is it OK to eat them now? They were at least 1 foot deep in the dirt.

@igorsMistress we may well be! :gig I texted him of my plans but haven't heard back. LOL

@Wee Farmer Sarah I have no idea, but they look ready to eat, they're beautiful!

I have 6 trays of yellow squash in the dehydrator, I added a little spice to the recipe @NewBoots posted. Can't wait to try them. I think they're a little thin because they really fell apart, but I can't find my mandolin so I had to use the slicer on the side of the box grater. I have 6 trays of half moons. Ha!

I sprayed the garden again. Picked a bunch of the squash that were still small for the chips, hoping for less seeds.

My $10 sink score for the potting table this am, it's a hand sink so pretty small. I liked the bonus high faucet on it, that'll work well.
