What did you do in the garden today?

Collected 60 cherry tomatoes, a few Roma’s, and 3 or 4 small “regular “ tomatoes as well as 3 cucumbers (2 small, fat ones) and a couple of zucchini. Zucchini is still going strong!
Moved the jalapeño plant and the habanero plant. Was very pleased to see 2 jalapeños on the plant!
Also saw this butterfly checking out the marigolds. View attachment 2299149Does anyone know if these are Monarch Butterfly eggs on this vining milk weed?View attachment 2299154Oh, now that I can see the picture in a bigger format I can see that those are not eggs at all! I can see little feet/legs. Are they aphids?
I also had a little hummingbird helper while I worked in the garden but it was camera shy. I couldn't get a picture of it.
For sure not Monarchs we have raised a few of those. I really do not know but I think I would research "Thrips". The webbing on the other leaves leads me in that direction and I have no personal experience to offer.

I would be in jail by now cuz that mom would have a bloody nose and those kids would have their butts whipped. You are far more kind than I.
True confessions. After arguing on the phone with her, trying to defuse the situation and maintain some dignity so I could get Jazz back, as was the real goal and I did not want to lose sight of... I took 1/2 a lorazepam and a few aspirins instead. I felt my blood pressure go through the roof with that gals double talk. A few years back I would have made a scene, probably my ego. Anywho, I can only control my own behavior and though I am truly saddened by her lack of character, she will have to hang her head, not me. I won't live with her garbage but I will keep a very good eye on and call KHS and send them photos the next time. Then i will call her landlord. Not smart to mess with the old and wise. ;)
That was just my nice shot over her bow.

Yes it is amazing how often my neighborhood spats go this way. I may be a disabled and old vet but have never forgotten lessons in winning a battle. I do know my animal control laws in and out. Courtesy and generosity are so frequently misunderstood. Get Jazz back safe and do not back down.

I actually called her cousin, who we made a coop for and I gave 5 or 6 chicks to a few weeks ago. I also healed his rooster when it was very sick. He will be doing our plumbing when we switch aunties solar water from roof to pad. I asked him for a favor and told him it was important to me. I told him she went a little off of the rails but did not call her crazier than a 💩🏠🐀 like I could should have. Still keeping the peace to get what I want. Next is TMK to look up her landlord. I'm really good at long winder letters. Time for another lorazepam 🤪 lol

Only did one thing in the garden yesterday, picked 1 tomato (starting to slow down production because I stopped plucking the suckers) picked one okra (ate it in the garden raw, that's how I like Okra, garden snacking food for me, and one pepperchini, tasted great. Spent most of the day taking care of chickens and rabbits, cooking, cleaning etc. I fell back on indoor work due to having so much fun outdoor work. I should have a bunch of ripe peppers after skipping a day.

Good morning gardeners. I hope your blood pressure has resumed to near normal @TropicalBabies. It's unfortunate to have to deal with the cruelties inflicted by ill informed persons, but until there's a law against stupid, we just have to suck it up and move on. So we are enjoynig another cool morning today. The temps are supposed to climb into the high 80's today. While on my garden walk I picked yet another hefty serving of bush beans. I am certainly planting them again next year. I also picked some blushing tomatoes. My pole beans are full of blooms but I only saw one small bean on the whole "green monster" plant. The disappointing thing I found was fresh digging under the fence and my big butternut squash with teeth marks. Aaaagh! So the question of the day: should I tape over the damaged portion and let it ripen up to feed to the chickens or just compost it now? This is at least a 3 lb squash. I have some chicken wire I could cover the squash plants or would something like bird netting be better. Knock on wood I may very well be harvesting some more pickling cukes. With the temperatures warming up for the next week they should develop. My blushing tomatoes are ripening nicely indoors. Although they won't be as tasty as vine ripened, they are still immensely better than what the local grocery stores carry and no added chemicals. Not much planned for the garden otherwise today. I did water yesterday since it's been awhile since we've had a substantial rain. Have a great day everyone.

hi all Wee Farmer Sarah I would let that squash keep going. (sorry ya'll I can't get out of bold right now.) TropicalBabies those people sound horrific we dealt with a woman like that in May who was living with us and she was trying too manipulate us into doing all these projects that we did not have time for like growing by hand an acre of donated potatoes.:rantugh.
