What did you do in the garden today?

BTW saw this bird online today.....

Goodness, @littledog, I am so sorry! I think I remember that happening. How awful, I can't imagine. Our collie died in December and that alone was nearly more than I could take. Losing two...I do remember you all going through that. Since I still tear up over Ben (this morning while mopping his spot in the office, in fact), no doubt you still miss your two pals as well. :'( Pets really are such blessings.

Thanks so much, @NightingaleJen. Losing each of them was really awful, but we do feel like we did the right thing at the right time for our boys; they were both suffering in different ways.

We still miss them so much. Like you do with your dear Ben, we tear up at random times, when some little thing reminds us.

Fostering my sister's senior golden retriever has been a huge comfort for us. She's the most loving and empathetic dog I've ever known. It's like she's a living angel sent to us at just the right time to help us. We're not even religious, in the sense of any one religion being better than another, but we truly believe Lily coming to live with us at this time is a blessing.

I'll be fine when the Canadian border opens again and Lily can go live with my sister, but Mr. Dog would love to keep her. I'd be happy to keep her too, so whatever happens, Lily will always be be loved.

Good morning gardeners. I am loving our weather now. Warm in the mid 70's during the day and lows in the 50's at night. I did get the backyard mowed yesterday. That may likely be the last time this season. Got my second batch of peach preserves canned. Then froze a pound of green beans. Yay! I did my garden walk this morning. Picked a bunch of Roma and cherry tomatoes. I'm thinking I'll pick the rest of the green ones to make one more batch of salsa verde. I also picked another half pound of green breans. I still need to pick the ripe Hungarian peppers. I got my laundry started and a batch of tomato sauce simmering on the stove. Then my second BO, Blondie, layed her first egg this morning. Since two of the three BO's are laying now, I just opened their door and let them loose with the big girls. So far so good. A little fussing and chasing but no blood curdlng screams of distress. :fl Are those gluten free bagels you made @Sueby? They look great. If they are GF, can you pm the recipe? Tomorrow will be a day of rest for me, but today, busy busy. I need to squeeze in some time to water the garden too. Oi! Have a great day everyone.
