What did you do in the garden today?

I just want to see if Coffee tastes like Hot Chocolate after eating Miracle Fruit

Its a Fruit that tricks your taste buds into sensing everything as sweet. I want to see I can eat super healthy bland foods and have them taste really good. Not sure if I will like it or not but if I do not I can sell the fruits as a novelty drug and tell people its "Taste tripping" ... except its 2020 not 1995 so I do not associate with people who want to "trip" anymore. Everyone I know either loves church, work, or gardening... when did I get old? 25 years ago I knew a lot of people who would buy anything that had a psychedelic drug name even if alls it did was make things taste different.

Good morning gardeners. I managed to get a little dirt moved yesterday. When I went to my little discount store to pick up my new dolley they had big pots of daisies in front of the store. I grabbed one for my cutting garden. So now I have two BES, the daisies, daffodils and tulips that will return in the Spring and Summer. I will add some zinnias and carnations in the Spring but that should fill up that little garden bed nicely. I really hope I can find a decent looking edging or fence for it. It has to be something that can stand up to being buried in snowpiles. The okra flowers never fully opened yesterday but it was a nice surprise anyway. I believe the last of the unseasonably warm weather is gone for now. Today is mid 60's and raining all day into tomorrow morning. We might actually get 1 1/2 inches of rain. Thank goodness. Judging by the gathering behavior of the squirrels and chipmunks we are likely going to have a very snowy winter here. Plus the acorns are actually ripe this year. Last year they fell early and were green. I just hope I can get completely caught up with the outdoor winter preps before the snow flies. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning all. Been busy trying to catch up in here since last night. @igorsMistress have a good day today whatever you have planned with your extra time. Temps have been super nice here. Think I am going to replant the seeds I list due to planting before a hurricane. My coop is where all my hard work has been going. Coop is done for the winter at least. Now for the chicken swap on Saturday. :celebrate Dog approved the coop too and he has done so good with my babies. We did a good job working with him. Still keep an eye out but he loves watching them. I'll get some garden pics this weekend. Too bad it won't be my raised beds. Hubs has worked on the fence and coop doors though can't talk too bad about him.

Morning all. Absolutely nothing going on here in the garden!

Supposed to get a lot of rain again today too - thankfully as wells are drying up around here. We're in a severe drought & need rain desperately.

Me & 2 friends are planning to do our Christmas jams on Tuesday in the outdoor canning kitchen! I've never done Christmas jams this early, but COVID & all...:he This warm fall won't last forever.

I've decided on salted caramel pear butter - not really a jam, but it sounds good & is done in the crock pot before canning so seems like a good recipe to do outside. I'm kind of happy to not have to get splattered with boiling hot jam up my arm while stirring for that longest 1 minute ever! :gig

I'm planning on a lazy day off today. Not much to be done in the rain so I feel a Netflix day coming! Enjoy all!

I'm not even a pear person but that sounds delicious.

OMG that salted caramel pear butter sounds really yummy. I can feel my blood sugar level going up right now. :lau My rainy day fun is putting together the last piece of furniture I ordered. It's a storage bench for my bedroom. The bay window doesn't have enough room to sit on it (also, that's where I store my butternut squash) so this bench has a low back so it will feel like sitting in the window. And, you can never have enough storage.

It does sound good, it's like 4lbs of pears & 2 1/2 cups of brown sugar. I'm with you @Wee Farmer Sarah, I won't eat any because I don't do sugar, but the Christmas jams are always a huge hit.

Speaking of, if anyone has a min, can you look at this recipe? They say it only makes 4 half pints. Does that seem right to you? I feel like it would make more than that, but I guess I need to plan as they have it noted.
