What did you do in the garden today?

New spider plant! The dirt is SOAKED because our only potting soil/peat moss was in a bucket sitting out in the rain. I also found a cool seed pod at the farm I've started volunteering at (Huge seed pod!) and got 16 seeds out of it. I'm doing an experiment with them that I'm going to start a new thread on.

Byron the spider plant has his feet in soil! GO BYRON!

Good morning gardeners. Only a couple of buckets to go and the dirt pile will be completely gone. I'm never going to bulk order dirt ever again. After cleaning the leaves out of the backyard we got a bit of a wind storm that blew nearly all the remaining leaves down into the yard. Oh well. I've turned my attention to my indoor garden as well. Finally came up with a re-arrangement plan for my sunroom. I ordered a leaning shelving unit to put plants on to make way for the Christmas tree. After the holidays I will be able to use the shelves for my starter trays for the garden. I added an electric humidifier to the room since the pot of water on the pellet stove wasn't making enough water vapor. The plants seem to like it. My poinsettia is not doing so well. I accidentally whacked it a couple of times while hanging curtains. Too bad because it is starting to bloom. The large one I had finally died. It was 10 years old. It's time to get a new one. We had a hard freeze overnight so anything outside other than evergreens are done for the year. I don't think my curly endive made it. I forgot to cover it last night. Hoping to have the time in December to start next Springs garden plan. All I know right now is where I'm putting the tomatoes. The seeds I saved from my green beans, both pole and bush, dried nicely so hopefully they will do well next year. As @Sueby mentioned, just use rutabagas in place of potatoes. They work especially well in stews. Oh well, back to work, it's laundry day. Have a great day everyone.
