Oh , sounds like you need a few chickens to help out. Fork over the area while the hens have a snack. My SS were great for that.Had to replant my corn. About 90% of it eaten. ? crows, ? some little brown maggot looking grubs.
Shhhhhh . . . lol . . . . dont jinks your good luck. As long as the coons cant get in, I leave them be. They will move on if there is other easier food to get elsewhere.I can't figure out why my garden has not been bothered by either ground hogs or rabbits. I've chased a ground hog across my yard before, seen plenty of rabbit droppings around the perimeter, also seen plenty of deer signs. The only mammal garden pests are coons and perhaps squirrels... oh and voles, mice. No dog either. I'm thinking it may be time to put out a live trap for coon. Saw some scratch marks on the door frame of my big coop.
Purple foliage sweet potato? I have some of that. It makes a pretty ground cover. Does well in the shade.
Or is it a tuber making variety?
