What did you do in the garden today?

@ChocolateMouse, I blame you forcing me to make the pineapple upside down cake that I just put in the oven. Actually, I bought the ingredients a couple weeks ago but looking at your candles reminded me that I wanted something sweet.

The ladies love shrimp tails but not so much sweet potato fries. And I am kinda simple, I've had this stove for more than a year and it finally occurred to me to try the convection setting for something. It worked a real treat making the shrimp and fries nice and crispy, learning all the time.

Lots I should be doing in the yard, the weather is cold but lovely and clear, but the house smells like cake and is toasty and warm. I already saw to the critters earlier so I think I'll take the cake out of the oven and make some coffee. I wish I could dish up the cake with all of you, instead, here is the cake and the camellia.

I do not accept this blame. XD Pineapple is evil, and I am allergic. The only way you baking a pineapple cake is my fault is if you're trying to banish me. XD

Then again, if I made you hungry enough to bake when you didn't wanna, maybe you ARE tryna get rid of me!

Yeah, I understand that to restrict the freedom of movement for the sick is wisdom. To restrict the freedom of movement for the healthy is tyranny.

Good afternoon gardeners. I watered the seedlings. I see something green in the lettuce and maybe some garlic. Didn’t do anything out there other than that. I’m tired today, have a sinus headache and it’s in the upper 70s outside with a good breeze. I had to take Frankie to the vet to get his foot wrapped again. After surgery on Friday whoever wrapped it did it so that the tape didn’t hold and it was pulling at his hair. Also, some gauze got stuck between his toes. I rewrapped it yesterday myself but we needed it checked. Better job by the vet tech today and more the way I did it so fewer issues and it’s easier to keep him off of it without putting the cone of shame on him. I did get out to visit the duckies though. They are growing so fast! I’ve already had to adjust the heat plate and they seem happier with it.

Anyone hoping for a Garden theme or garden related gift? Seeds, potting bench, tools?

I’m nearly done with shopping. Shipped last package today to assorted relatives. Shipping is so variable right now!! I ordered some items from a company in MO on Nov 27. They shipped it priority the next day. This is day 10 or 11 and as of this morning, it was still in a shipping facility in MO!! Hope to see the items before too long! I’ve noticed some companies now have “ order by Dec 9 and you’ll get it before Christmas” - much earlier than usual!

I need to buy a few more seeds, but think I’ll wait til Jan.
