Anyone hoping for a Garden theme or garden related gift? Seeds, potting bench, tools?

I’m nearly done with shopping. Shipped last package today to assorted relatives. Shipping is so variable right now!! I ordered some items from a company in MO on Nov 27. They shipped it priority the next day. This is day 10 or 11 and as of this morning, it was still in a shipping facility in MO!! Hope to see the items before too long! I’ve noticed some companies now have “ order by Dec 9 and you’ll get it before Christmas” - much earlier than usual!

I need to buy a few more seeds, but think I’ll wait til Jan.

This keeps happening to us too...
I thought about waiting but was scared to after last year especially since I start some of my seeds in January. Definitely hoping for some garden related gifts too.

Yeah, I understand that to restrict the freedom of movement for the sick is wisdom. To restrict the freedom of movement for the healthy is tyranny.

Thinking about this though... What about all the people who are sick/carrying but don't show any signs of it.
Like I could probably pass a COVID test right now. I still don't think ya want me at your house, you know? And my partner had no symptoms at all a week ago but has a positive test now. If he had visited you before he FELT sick, especially if he hadn't worn a mask around you, you'd be sick too, because he was sick but didn't know it.

We keep chickens from passing from state to state without tests and quarantines and such for that exact sorta reason.

It wouldn't be crazy to restrict travel to specific methods or put people through quarantines and checkpoints. Even if it just reduced travel because travel was a pain in the butt it would reduce spread.

This is the most un-American idea I have read all day. Intentionally causing difficulty in travel to reduce travel is a means of government controll of free will. And simply because someone might be sick. Where will this end?

Really ticked at Amazon right now right after I made my last post about packages that haven’t come in I went to check on them. The other day Amazon claimed that a decent size package I had coming had been delivered and WAS SIGNED FOR AT THE FRONT DESK! We were home the entire day we certainly didn’t sign for a package and it’s at least 5-10 miles to the nearest business. Didn’t think to screenshot and came back later and they claimed it was still out for delivery after I filed a complaint now it’s been 2 more days and Amazon is claiming my package arrived again, again home all day no package. NOW they are claiming that it was stolen off our porch and refuse to refund. Told us our only option is to take it up with UPS ourselves, (which UPS won’t allow they tell us to contact Amazon) or call the cops on the supposed porch pirates. Also getting the same message with another package from them. Now I’m being told that if 2 of my packages were “stolen” I need them shipped to a more secure address. Arguing with a representative right now

We were covid tested Monday . Daughter went to a different site and is negative . Wife and I have not got results yet . I hope mine is negative . That would mean I have a cold . Which should be over soon . I feel better today but felt bad the last 2 .

It’s all about money. If humans travel there’s money to be made whether they are sick or not. If sick chickens travel it ends up costing a lot to fix the problem.

Good morning gardeners
@Acre4Me I definitely have gardening stuff on my list. This year I’m sending Amazon gift cards by email to my parents so they can shop for whatever they want. My dad is 90+ and our family is constantly having close calls so not taking any chances. I see the rest either daily or weekly so while we aren’t getting together, we aren’t shipping their gifts.
I checked the garden yesterday and there’s definitely garlic coming up but I’m not sure about lettuce and no carrots yet. If the carrots don’t sprout soon I’m going to plant a different brand that I always have good results from. I tried the seed tape and maybe they were old. I dunno. The ducklings are doing great but I’m not sure if they’re using the heat plate at night, I tried putting them under it but they kept coming back out so I left it on just in case. We are looking at the possibility of rain tonight and tomorrow but I’m not counting on it. Hoping for it though, nothing does a garden good like some rain! Have a great day everyone!
