What did you do in the garden today?

Since we are talking about what's left still from last year's garden, I have at least 10 pumpkins (pie size) in the pantry still. They are not rotting. They have lasted since October. I've cooked a few. We like them, but pumpkin just doesn't fit into the menu regularly. I might just have to bake a bunch of pies and freeze them for later use or give to family and friends.

I'd make pies and puree and freeze it for fall. That way you aren't counting on fall squash for pies, bread, brownies, or side dishes.

You have a raised bed in your living room?
This I have to see. Pics please?

I haven’t put anything in it yet and it’s pretty small. I’m only 5’2” and I’m taller and longer than it is. But my hubby gave it to me for Christmas. He put it together inside and I had the 💡 moment and decided it would be a great seed starter/ mini greenhouse.

ah... 15" is a bit narrow for my starter trays, which are 21" I believe. Not sure 46" would fit on my rack either as I think it's 42" just.
We mostly use 1420s in these, which is perfect for the size for four to go side-by-side. We only use one standard sized tray, and that one is on the bottom, and it's where we grow peppers with the higher dome.

I'm not sure if that would work for the fig trees in my climate. Although, my garage is not heated and the tree does ok in there over the winter. I still have some things left from last years harvest. The drought and bugs made for a smaller harvest all around but I do have two jars of tomato sauce and several jars of regular salsa and green tomato salsa verde. I still have two large butternut squash in my bedroom window and several containers of squash in the freezer. The green beans are about done and I still have sugar peas. I also have enough Concord jam, peach preserves and applesauce to carry me for several more months. Right now my freezer is relatively full of meat and "ahem" grocery store frozen vegetables. I use the mixed vegetables when making soups. I'm looking forward to a better harvest this year. :fl
