What did you do in the garden today?

DS wants garden tools like these. They want $15 a piece at the store though! I could get a real full sized rake/shovel/hoe for that price.
I was going to buy a long handled pitch fork at TS the other day & they wanted over $30 for it! I put it back, lol.

I bought myself a new grill today. :yesss: :wee

MY BEST pitch forks are from a local antique store. $3 each. LOL. FAR sharper and better shaped handle than the new stuff.

Today I dug just 6-8 inches into the pile and it was PIPING HOT. I couldn't comfortably hold my hand in the hole I made with the fork. It's cooking up and with some turning should be good to go by May
That is the sign of a GREAT compost pile! :thumbsup

Part of our dinner came from last year's garden. Potatoes with onions and garlic. Yum. I feel a sense of contentment from home grown food that I just don't get from store bought.

Breakfast is likely to be reheated taters with scrambled eggs.

Almost out of onions, though. I put them on the shopping list. Sigh.

Now it’s $19. I think I got the handtools from target though. I didn’t get into with the wheelbarrow.
Awesome! It's getting ordered. Even better, my sister's Easter Bunny is getting it so I don't have to pay the invoice on it from the Easter Bunny. 😁

I have 3 or 4 trees/shrubs grown together that I need to remove. They are on the unkept flower bed I'm digging up and leveling to make room for the new swingset. They were there when we bought the house. I cut them down in the Fall and so far they look dead, but are likely just dormant. It's a tangle of stumps at roots at the moment. I tried digging around it to cut it below grade this evening. That's not working because all the roots are in the way. I think I am going to end up burning it tomorrow afternoon after I'm done working.
