What did you do in the garden today?

I gotta come back and reread all this for inspiration later today! I go for my first vaccine (YAY!!) this morning, so hopefully I feel like working outside afterward. It supposed to be warm and gorgeous again today. :)
That's so great! Some of the people I know who have been vaccinated had a few symptoms like extreme fatigue and sore arms, but nothing very long-lasting. Take full advantage of the warm and gorgeous weather - if you feel too tired to do the work you planned don't feel guilty, just set up a lawn chair outside, enjoy the sounds of birds chirping and the scents of plants growing, and take a nice relaxing nap!

I just qualified for the vaccine in my state this week, but can't find an appointment - and by next week they will be qualifying all adults, so the lines will be getting even longer. I know my HMO that I belong to has vaccines, but when I logged in, they said I needed to wait for a special code to be mailed to me via snail mail ! Not very helpful! I wish my state had waited for vaccine availability to become more widespread before opening it up to all adults - I'm healthy, but also in my 60's and have been working at my work site (able to distance and mask though) all year. Oh well, whatever, I don't mind following safety protocols for a while longer, my turn for the vaccine will come soon. I've definitely suffered way less than many people during this past year.

I hear ya! This year has made me realize how VERY LUCKY I AM.

Last year the luffa sprouted then did nothing much. They were planted in poor soil (never amended anyway), so we dosed them with fertilizer snd they took off! So try some of that before you give up.

Hopefully you’ll be fine -my arm was sore, but mostly to touch, I could still do everything. I was fairly tired for the next 24-48hours, but the worst was the arm bc it would wake me up when I rolled onto it. So, did the vaccine make me tired (via my immune response), or was I tired bc for 2 nights I was woken up by the sore arm?? :lau
Thanks! I’ll do that today.

Try going to Walgreens webpage and creating an user account then try to find an appointment in your state. That’s how me, and my partner got an appoimment and vaccinated, after looking for spots everywhere for a while!

It is really spring when the rhubarb peeks up from the ground 😍
Rhubarb pie and rhubarb crumble, yummy. I have rhubarb in the freezer, luckily, because now I want rhubarb pie.. it's 5-6 weeks before we can expect the rhubarb peeking up.
Glad someone else likes it as much as I do! I decided I'm just going to buy a few more plants this spring, I have the perfect place for them. Can never have enough rhubarb!

It's the one plant that grows in every garden in Norway. No matter how long and hard the winter is, the rhubarb survives. We have an old variety, the most sour one. I guess it's been in the garden since the homestead was built in 1932. I feed it bokashi, some bunny poo and cover the ground around it with its leaves. It thrives and gives more than enough for us 5. The plant are huge😁

Check to see if the cables to the battery itself are intact. Sometimes they are in shields but they can be snapped inside. Enough power to start your lights, but not enough to crank over the engine.
They picked up the tractor before 5 yesterday . The cables were not shielded . Bolt on ends so been replaced at some point . Maybe I should have taken the ends off and cleaned the cable ends . This one turns off with the key so loss of power shuts off the fuel .

I have wonderful memories of my grandmother & her rhubarb. I wish I had taken it when we sold the house. I was reading up on some of the newer, much sweeter, varieties. Sound interesting but I'm fond of the sour! I remember just dunking a stalk in a bowl of sugar & eating it as a little kid. :gig

That’s what I did. Walgreens, very user friendly site for vaccine. Even provides links to your state for state specific info. I had to go one county over to get an appointment. While there, the pharmacist indicated some people are coming from the 2 larger cities to get their shots bc too hard to find an appointment in their larger metro areas. So, some people are driving 1-2 hours for their appointment! Anyway, it was a good experience, there was a separate room to get the shot, and privately ask any questions.

you all can have my share of Rhubarb. Celery with better public relations. LOL.
Cold and rainy after a stormy night.
Chicks are tucked under their electric brooder. I'm sure they burst out to play the second I left.
Alpacas are slowing munching their way through their greened field.
The adult coop are mad that I didn't let them out, yet.
Going to move the laundry around and head out and start the shelves for the greenhouse.
Have a super day everyone.
