What did you do in the garden today?

I have so much garden work to do. I still need to go burn all the mulch and dead scrap from the summer's garden. The squash bugs went nuclear on me when I was down with Covid. I have to imagine how many are over-wintering in that mess. I'm going to burn everything and then till the ash into the soil. Good Lord, I can't believe we are almost a quarter of the way through February already. I'm running out of time.

Ooo, I've never had those! I was thinking about maybe some dried fruit, potato chips, and jerky. But I'm open to suggestions and ideas!

I am not a huge tomato fan but dehydrated is definitely my thing. Roma’s are the best for dehydrating in my experience because they tend to hold up to the process better than some others. I like to powder a little dried basil, mix with salt and sprinkle it on before I dehydrate them. You can also use a mixture of onion pwd, garlic pwd, salt and some dried and powdered cilantro too.

Good afternoon all. I checked on my orders for the shipping and still nothing. The apple tree should ship soon but the lilac might not ship until March? Really? It could be over 90 degrees outside by then! So I’m planting the rest of the stuff this weekend. Onions, borage, comfrey and various flowers. Also the dill.

Gurneys and Territorial Seed. If this experience with Gurneys is like my last one I’m never ordering from them again. I ordered seed potatoes from them last year and when I opened the box there was mold. I haven’t ever ordered from Territorial before. They don’t give any ship dates that I’ve found on their website.

Planted a bunch of peas, some mustards and oh crap I forgot ill have to ask him again... blush.

One of my buddies, gets seeds, hey Aaron, I got some peas,want some, umm sure, he opens up a 40 lb bag, holy crap scotty why so many? They are cheaper this way, well ok but you will NEVER use this many, I know so I'll give them away...

I still have to get my potatos in, almost too late now, and my jamaican laurel started, among other plants. Too much stuff to do, too little time and it's raining all the time

For the past several days the temp @ night has ranged fro 27 F to 35 last night so the tropicals have been covered since the beginning. Didn't wanna lose a lot of trees like I did last year. Espacially since several are newly planted this year. Uncovered them today and thought I heard a sigh of relief from them. Supposed to be above freezing for about a week so maybe there will be no need to cover them again. Old Farmers Almanac says last frost is March 5. Hopin they're right!
Otherwise, yesterday I transplanted 2 blackberry bushes, Arapaho, thornless. Still gotta move another which is a thorned variety, Don't know the name but it throws huge berries. Also emptied my paper shredder and finally got all my onions mulched with it. Waitin for warmer weather and they should take off on a growin spree. Will throw some leaves on for another mulch layer when they get a little bigger.

What Apple tree did you order from Gurneys? I have 2 Golden Delicious, 3 Pixie Crunch, 3 Sweet Sixteen and a mini reachables Goldrush apple tree(s). 1 of my Pixie Crunch is a reachables too.

Pine wood mostly comes from Canada. I told my husband to get my wood I needed a couple weeks ago knowing things would not be coming from Canada for quite some time. I got my syrup and cranberry sauce too. I couldn't think of any car parts I needed at the time.
