What did you do in the garden today?

BTW, I found corno di toro seeds yesterday! Menards had them. Of course I planted the other mixed pack of corno di toro and banana pepper seeds already. I might just compost those starts and plants these seeds now so I know I'm growing exactly what I want. Alternatively, I could just let them grow and see if anybody wants to buy or trade for them in late April / early May.

Is that first pic your yard? I love the huge patio area with the two pergolas. That must be a great space in the warmer months for gatherings.
I wish it were. That is a shot of the exterior of the grounds of the botanical garden. I included it to show the contrast of the icy landscape alongside the beautiful and warm interior plants. DD and I are considering getting an annual membership.

Cold here. 11F at 9 am. So schools were on a 2 hour delay due to the cold.

Ice. My spouse was out with teen and came home after having fallen on some ice while they were out. We decided to go to urgent care to make sure it was just a sprain (could move foot and bear weight, but painful). Good thing we went yesterday-the ankle is broken! Very clear break of the lower part of the thinner leg bone. So, ortho appt tomorrow- May end up needing surgery, so we will find out tomorrow.

The onion seeds I started have done well germinating, lids are off the trays. Will start asparagus, tomatoes and peppers soon.

I made a sign. 42BF4010-9DA1-4B75-A6FB-956BB776DEE4.jpeg

Had to look the pepper up
Also known as Bull's Horn peppers and Cowhorn peppers, Corno di Toro chile peppers are considered an Italian roasting pepper that has a mild heat, ranging
My last walking onion I bought I have them in dirt see what happens .. Rain here today

Picked my first asparagus today. Peach and apple are blooming, and I see a few tiny figs forming. It hit 90 degrees over the weekend.. shade cloth is on the greenhouse now, but it should cool off by tomorrow.

Carrots I've had some success with, but only a small portion of my seeds tend to germinate. I just picked a few carrots that germinated months late when I planted something else in that bed. Plain ol dirt or peat moss seems to be best medium, it stays pretty moist for germination and like other people have mentioned any bit of rock, bark or even perlite will make them split.
