What did you do in the garden today?

:hugs@igorsMistress - big big hugs.

@WthrLady that looks fantastic! I thought we had bipolar weather, but you're weather is like no other!

Nothing happening here in the garden - it's a frozen icy mess, about 3 inches worth. I was so excited a week ago when it all melted & here I am again. SO over winter! :barnie
Ya, it's magic.
75 today, 78 tomorrow and then back to the 40s for next week.
We usually have 20 inches of snow a winter on average. We've had 1.5 inches all winter and no rain or ice either.
Fires are popping up everywhere.
Yesterday about 20 miles south of me, not weather related, an amazing veg and flower farm, and goat dairy, their shop (as in their market) burned to the ground. The open every April. UGH I feel so horrible for them.

New blog post is up, link is below.
I'm off to go work on the hoop house for the day. I need 40' to paint and 55 to poly seal barn signs. We're at 47, so I'll get more lumber pieces up and then break for lunch, then paint the rest of the day.

Have a great day all.

Afternoon all. I just got home from the worm farm. April and May are great times to go because the food forest will be in full swing. If you can take the tour I highly recommend it!
Ooh I would have done that a month ago when I was in AZ. Maybe I'll stop there on my cross country move.

Last week I made a quick trip to the property in FL. I brought a dragon fruit cutting with me and planted it, so my garden has broken ground there even if the house has not!

Can't believe it's March and I can start planting in the ground soon. As far as winter veggies go, Chinese cabbage is a loss.. full of earwigs. I have not figured out how to get rid of them. Daikon is tiny, only about 4 inches long before the roots split and curled. Maybe my raised bed soil isn't loose enough?

The SuperThrive I ordered came today. I'm going to use it on the bareroot roses from Springhill that were shipped but haven't arrived yet. I also have 7 crape myrtle that the Arbor Day sent me. I'll pot those up until they are a little more established before putting them in the ground....but I hope to have the roses in the ground in the next 2-3 weeks! :) So ready for spring. All the plants are coming out at the store. I still need to pick up my potatoes, onions, and some San Marzanos if I can find them.

Trying to decide if I want to start my luffa indoors or just direct sow. Any thoughts?

If you are willing to share, how much have you spent so far on supplies to build it? Just curious...
I'll look that up when I'm done.
I'm using as much stuff that I already had on hand, and as much from Habitat and the clearance bins as I can.
My receipts from HomeDepot are all in a pile at the moment. It's not a good number though.

My started seeds did just fine, but I didn't plant them out in the wild until the about the second week of June. They need warmer soil temps.
