What did you do in the garden today?

ALMOST done with the framing and knee-board on the hoop house. GOOD LORD.
I had to make another trip to town for some other bits and odds for it, and ran into a neighbor, so instead of a 1.5 hours. I was gone 3.
That's OK. I'll get the stay strips up tomorrow and a custom panel with a vent and then get to painting it all. Then I'll feel better if it gets rained/snowed on this next week. I also grabbed the supplies I need for a low hoop cover frame INSIDE the hoop house, just in case. Saw 2x4x8s were down to 7.35 and PVC 3/4" was down to 5.59 still not the same as before, but better than the past few weeks.

Ya, chickens are prolific poopers.

The only caveat to planting things without drainage holes is overwatering and this drowning your seedlings. What are you planting in the paks? It's ok to remove the plant and its roots carefully as you're repotting. Repotting is usually done when 2 true leaves have matured.
I planted everything from sage, oregano and rosemary to Thai Chili Peppers, several varieties of tomatoes, artichoke, eggplant, celery, onions, lavender, snapdragons and sweet William

God be with you as you care for your dad and figure out all the details. Elder care is challenging and taxing on all. Advise you to learn all you can from hospice caregivers, and online. I had never learned more about elder care than when I had to care for my dad.
Thank you so much! It’s definitely an eye opener.
About 5 years ago, my dad ended up in the hospital. They weren't doing much to help him other than milk his insurance for whatever they could charge. Had him on all kinds of meds for no reason and set him up with physical therapy which was dumb cause he was clearly never going to walk again except for a few steps. He gave me legal POA over his healthcare and I pulled him out of everything. Moved him over to the VA. They took him off all the unnecessary medication and gave him a motorized wheelchair to get around. He actually spent the last year of his life in relative comfort... His case is not unique. I've heard many other cases where hospitals just do whatever they can get away with all for the insurance money and don't give a whit about the effect to the patient. Especially if they are terminal.
I almost wish my dad switched over to the VA, although our hospitals here really aren’t any better than regular ones sadly.

Dang it’s hot in the sun today. I’m sweaty and covered in dust but finished filling the bucket under the shredder. @NewBoots here’s a link to my chipper/shredder on Amazon. I didn’t buy mine there but it’s the same one. The shreds are very small. I’ve managed to shred all the trimmings from my shrubs in the backyard from this year down into one bushel of waste and the pile was significant. I still have the bougainvillea to finish trimming but wow! The only thing I’ve found is that pieces with sharp curves or with thick stubs from smaller branches that are too long don’t work well because they don’t fit so a little extra trimming with some things will be necessary. Oh, and definitely get some ear plugs!

Thanks so much! I put it on my wish list until my pension arrives and then it is mine! And I'm so sorry for your troubles. It should be that when that sort of help is needed, that everything to make things better just falls into place.
