I have wanted to order mason bees for a while now. But we have a carpenter bee problem here and they get sprayed. I wouldnt want to risk them in the crossfire. My 2nd order of Mason Bee cocoons were delivered today, so I took them out to the hatching spot I set up in the barn on the nesting block I made for them. When I opened the box they were in I found that 6 of them had already hatched while in-transit. It was funny to have 2 of them crawl out and onto my hand, look at me as if to say, "Hey, what's up?" and then fly off to do bee stuff.
And then there was this one, who apparently thought it was a nice day to just stroll around a bit to check the place out.
