What did you do in the garden today?

I had planned on watering yesterday but when I unrolled the hoses I found a crack in one of them. A new hose is on the shopping list.
Must be the common theme. I had to water today after 4-5 days of no rain, and water was leaking out of the side in two spots. Needless to say, I also watered myself! We need a new hose also. Thankfully it worked enough to water the garden and it is supposed to rain Sun & Mon so I have a little time.

99 today, humidity back down to 30% so the icky sticky is going away. Maybe I can find some time to tend to my garden a bit later. Hey tomato people, quick question. My tomatoes sprouted, got about two inches tall and that's it. No progress, nor are they dying. Any ideas?
Have you fed them anything? Watered recently? I don’t have experience with 99 degrees and tomato starts so wouldn’t know if temp would have anything to do with it.

One of the big advantages of this planter that I did not emphasize enough was the "elevated" portion of this planter. I put my planters on legs making the top of the planter waist high.
Here's something that I've wondered. What kind of support do you have to have underneath to hold up what must be very heavy? 15 gallons of water is close to 125 lbs. Plus all the logs/compost/dirt. And what is the bottom made of so that it doesn't rot away?

I'm in awe of your planters, @gtaus.

In canning, you can denature the toxin by boiling canned item for a minimum of 10 min once removed from the jar. That is what I was taught, but haven’t verified that anytime recently.
Funny I had googled that not too long ago & read from the WHO this: 'Though spores of C. botulinum are heat-resistant, the toxin produced by bacteria growing out of the spores under anaerobic conditions is destroyed by boiling (for example, at internal temperature greater than 85 °C for 5 minutes or longer).'

It's good to know, but most of what I can doesn't get cooked after - pickles, jams etc. I don't bother with tomatoes or tomato sauces because I can't grow enough to make it worth it.

I know I'm just paranoid, but I always have it in the back of my mind I can kill people with my Christmas jams, lol. But I'm a fanatic rule follower so it's not likely. *knockonwood* <----see the paranoia? LMAO

Hi all. I went out to the shade garden on my break. What do you call it when top set onions get onions? Fruiting? Flowering? Whatever it is, I got some. One of the pots gets some direct morning sun and the other gets filtered sun all day. I'm going to leave them like that and see how they do. I added putting compost into those pots and mulching them to my list of many things to do out there. Today will be a day to get that kind of thing done, tomorrow it'll be HOT. Will also need to water the little stuff early tomorrow morning, the lemon tree is getting it's water now. Anyway, break is over, have a great day.

At least 2 hours of clean up on weeds on outside wall that were growing inside the greenhouse, along with cleaning greenhouse beds and digging some holes getting ready to plant, and trimming some Chinese Elm branches. I think the Chinese Elm are incubators for praying mantis - I saw 3 baby mantis this morning and an egg pod all near Ch. Elms.
