What did you do in the garden today?

Can someone please tell me what is wrong with my apple tree. Please

Mine is doing the same thing...but I have another that receives more light and is doing great. I think it might be from not enough sun.....some kind of blight. Anyone else know for sure?

Our pears started falling and the cows got quite a few. So this morning Dh and I got to picking. We did not get them all. We went all over trying to find a fruit picker with out any luck. So we bought a bucket and some bolts to put it on a handle with a hole cut in the side to get the top pears later.


I am going to teach my dd # 3 how to make pear preserves.

My peach tree has so many peaches that the branches are breaking! the last couple years prior to this production was spare. the only thin I did differently was spray it with neem oil in the trunk last fall and fertilized with lots of leaves. Can I do anything to make the branches stronger? Or is it worth saving? I will prune what is left of it after they ripen .

The old timer's here prop them up with 2x4's with a notch in the end.

Today I took pictures in my garden. my watermelon plants are growing like crazy. I'm guessing is all the rain we have been having. I have peppers, and tomatoes coming along great. and my corn is very tall. I'm so proud of myself for doing great yet another year. My cucumbers or not too happy but there trying. my watermelon plant is much bigger then this last photo.

Branched coneflower a native wildflower . They can take a fair amount of shade . More of a forest edge plant .
