What did you do in the garden today?

I decided to plant more ground cherry. I brought the packet outside and set it down. then oohhhh shiny hit me and I completely forgot about it till hours later. Funny thing, though, when I went to fill up the goslings and ducklings water, they acted like something jumped in the pen to get them. Hours later, I'm walking around tracing my steps and finally see where the packet of seeds went. I had to fish it out of the pen. I was soaked all the way through but I still torn the packet up into pieces and planted the whole darn thing!

I'm off my ADHD meds for a change-up and I don't like the lack of control feeling! I go out to my garden several times a day but cannot remember why I went out there!!!

This afternoon, I did saute some of my leeks with garlic and then caramelized some of the collard greens I picked and now it is on a low-low-low simmer for dinner.

Picked okra and bell peppers the rest is almost ready.

When are peas ready to eat?  I have never planted them before?

Technically you can eat them as soon as you see them, but I like to wait until they fatten up a bit. They're sweeter that way.

Picked some tomatoes, jalapenos, and eggplant. We keep getting rain, which is odd for here, but I'm loving it because I don't have to haul water from the rain barrels or grey water system to water my garden beds for awhile. Our melons are setting on well finally. Yeah!!

This past weekend, ripped up the exhausted green bean and squash plants, after I harvested what was on, then planted some more.

Someone on the Maine board was saying she grows potatoes in a straw bale. Has anyone tried that? Apparently lots of things can grow in straw bales.

Picked cukes, peppers, Gold of Bacau beans, and shelled Sugar Snap Peas.





Peas growing up and onto the arbor. About ten feet up now and falling down the other side.

I agree. Nothing tastes so good fresh picked as Sugar Snaps.

I picked some gradient Zuchinni... I guess this is what happens when it doesn't get enough sunlight! Ghost Zuchinni!

And then I pulled weeds until the i gave into the heat and ran back into the air conditioned house
