What did you do in the garden today?

UGH. I had to shoot the garden bunny, which sucks. I've watched him grow up. He was the first bunny on this hilltop in ages (we have a LOT of birds of prey, of which I have not seen ONE this year-I'm guessing avian flu got them)
Bunny was welcome on the hill. He was not welcome in the garden. He did no damage all summer until this week. I let him eat any grapes he could reach, and anything tossed on the ground.
Today I caught him pulling off green tomatoes, nibbling and leaving them lay.
He stripped a few limbs of tomato plants.
Even though right outside the garden gate was a heap of limbs and red to green tomatoes laying in the lawn. He's chewing off grape stems and has stripped the strawberries clean.

He wasn't even afraid of people, you could practically pick him up. (didn't, wouldn't)
So....ugh.

Shooting rabbits is always a good thing, they are a pestilence period.
You probably don't want to pick them up, my experiences they are COVERED in fleas, and god only knows what else. Don't need that transferring into the house, to your girls, dogs etc etc. I usually take mine out with a pellet gun to the head, 1100 fps .22 does the trick.

When I was stationed in guam, I brough a few of those onto the boat, had them in berthing. Initially everyone was like WTF you 4$#$#@ but then when they seen how good these things were at catching roaches and how many a day they could catch, they became gods. I mean literally the cleaning crew would scoop them allup and put them on top of the lockers before we mopped. It was funny, you'd walk by pushing a broom and 5 mantis' would be sitting there all watching you walk by moving their heads :D

Welp compost cantaloupe for the WIN!
Tasted much sweeter than the ones we intentionally grew from seed!!!
Got several more and they r huge! So looking forward to them fallin off the vine...
Not as many sunflowers as we planted seeds for...but atleast the chickens got shade from cantaloupe growing everywhere!
So pretty too! And the smile on your boy!
Sweet potatoes are one of the only things that could get me to go south. Well, that and the giant crappy and bass.
We had crappy and bass in a lake we used to fish when I was a kid ..so yummy! They poisoned it and replaced them with trout☹️
Right? I would totally buy a jar.... 😂😉
Here too!
Sulcata/African spur?
Yep. No idea how old he is or if he's done growing (think he is). My 17 yr old used to ride him when she was in diapers though...no matter how many times we told her that's a NoNo!
