What did you do in the garden today?

Nothing yet, still sit here with my coffee.
But later on I want put my Strawberry/Pineapple Guavas on a different place. I want make a edible hedge at our Property line. I want plant Turkish Hazelnuts, Guava, Loquat, Barbados Cherry and I will think about the rest.

that sounds really nice. If I can ever get the huge pine out of my yard I want to plants couple of those pink cherry trees along our split rail fence.

Mumsy--nice plants!

I harvested some tomatoes yesterday. We had to harvest almost all of our winter squash due to the bug infestation. Next year I'm planning on growing corn only (I hate squash bugs). I also have some okra growing and forgot (kicking myself) to get a picture of the flower yesterday...

Costoluto Genovese--love these!

My heirloom mixture, of course not a great showing of the purple varieties thanks to some harvest helpers over indulging...

We are living in a forest area too, but there is still more then enough place (1.5 acre) to plant. On our Property is a little stream and on the other side we plan trying to plant next year egyptian wheat.

Spent another hour in the Potager garden this morning harvesting more squash, carrots, cukes, and banana peppers. I couldn't carry it all so got my trusty little red wagon and loaded it up. First harvest of tomatillas and another big cinderella pumpkin. I could barely lift it. The wagon was so heavy, pulling out of the garden to the back door was a struggle. A very good struggle.

I eat cherry tomatoes for breakfast lunch and dinner. So sweet! Like picking candy off the vine.

First tomatilla.

I am over run with green tomatoes right now. They will probably all ripen at the same time.

BOA Butter cup Sunshine inside the tomato house.

Squash don't need my help finding nice places to grow. This one is sitting on a cross brace in the raspberry row.

Squash growing in the raspberry bushes.

There is a Burgess Butter cup squash ontop of the tomato house! I need a ladder! These kabocha type squash need to harden off over the next ten days then I can store them in the root cellar over winter.

This is my haul this morning. Enough to deal with in one day. My freezer and pantry are bursting at the seams and I have four times this much still left to harvest!
