What did you do in the garden today?

Snow. Snow. Snow. I think we’ve been out of school more this week than we have been there. I don’t know why I live in NY. 🙄
School rarely gets canceled here anymore due to snow... it snows, but school seems to double as daycare for many people...

Well I changed out of the slippers and went outside for a few minutes to mount the reinforcing brackets in the rafters of the GH.

Other reinforcements:

Aluminum C-channel across the middle of the roof panels with bolts and neoprene washers securing the center of each panel to the c-channel.

And aluminum flat bars running across the middle of the walls with roofing screws and neoprene washers securing the center of each panel to the flat bar.

@BReeder! Looks GREAT!
Wait until the sun comes out later this week and you see how warm it gets in there on even a cold day.
My shelving stabilizes my walls and helps anchor it down and keep it square, it does help. You did well!
I still need to build my fan support, but our highs will only be about 10'F for a while, so .... yuck.

I had one just like that at the cabin, we were there 10 years, it worked great, I built a waist high bench with a shelf under the top, I also had across the back and down one side a raised bed, I did all of my starts for tomatoes, peppers, squash etc. in the bed,,
But a heave wet snot will cave in the panels on the top if you let it build up, take the snow off

I might actually rebuild my fan bracket. I am finding two issues. 1. The C-channel wants to bend where I notched or the sides to connect the vertical sections. 2. The wire guard/cover on my fan is wider than the side holes are apart so the guard will not fit through the bracket. I test fitted from the louver side which fits just fine, but that means less of the louver housing sticks out the side and there's not a good seal with the panel so air will leak in/out and rain water will try to run into the greenhouse on the top of the housing.

My thought now is to do just a strip of C-channel across the top and the bottom of the fan and forget about the screw holes on the sides.

I'm so jealous of your greenhouse 🤩

I went back through my profile pics to try and find a pic of my greenhouse,
so far this is all I found, BUT now that I am thinking about it,, at first I had to put duck tape to hold the panels on when the wind blew really hard, they would blow out,
later my DH got at home depot, on the aisle with the sheet metal roofing, there are slats with bumps,, he used those to screw down the panels-- for the panels I lost due to the snow I made new ones with campaign signs, I gust cut them to fit.
