What did you do in the garden today?

Grow what? LIghts?
I got all mine from Homedepot. LED, full spectrum, daylight. Not the ones that go red or white or blue, just quality full spectrum daylight shop lamps. Plants do gangbusters under them.

Iris take about a month to start coming up, which is when I'll start needed the seeding shed for tomatoes.
Thanks! Sorry, didn't realize I missed a word there.... Yes, grow LIGHTS. 😂 I will go check out Lowes since they are cheaper and closer to me than HD.

Hmmm, the previous homeowner really loved irises. She planted a gazillion of them. I've generally ignored them because I had other priorities but I'm thinking this fall I REALLY need to dig them up and divide them. I get a LOT of green but no flowers or very very few. I also want to add some Angelique tulips, peach daffodils, and maybe some daylilies. So maybe it makes sense to do all that together somewhere. A proper flower bed just for bulbs.

I think the tomato disease I am having trouble with is called AYVV, I see the symptoms shown on this video on my tomato plant. The good news is there are disease resistant tomato plants out there........
If I am not mistaken, I think this Princess Yum Yum cherry tomato might have some resistance to this AYVV stunting virus, since it has resistance to related diseases.

Onions have been in the ground since Feb 4. Re-planted several due to a curious squirrel. Have buttercrunch lettuce and spinach among the onions now, and a chicken wire fence and cover (built by hubby) to keep the critters out (chickens included). The plants were provided by our son-in-law - still have a flat each of collards and cabbage AND a seed order coming from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange! It’s going to be busy around here for a while!

HD or Lowes. In RETROSPECT, I wish I had purchased ones you can train the plugs with. Plug one into another into another in series. Would save me plugs in the powerstrip, and I'd have two lamps ganged for each shelf so 4 plugs for the strip. No big deal though as they are LED.
