What did you do in the garden today?

Ahh, yes except sometimes I lay in bed cursing the fact that I HAVE to get up and slog through the rain/snow/mud/cold to care for the animals. There are no DAYS OFF when you own animals. 😂
Oh almost everyday. I know no one is going to starve, get grumpy sure, but not starve. But we drag ourselves out anyway, don't we.

I stopped at home depot. They have trees outside and packaged starts inside. I bought a Suffolk red seedless grape. They did not have what I wanted. Dentist visit not good. Need 4 pulled one crown and a partial = $$$$. Insurance will cover most of the cost.

I went out at 3 to feed the animals and decided to check the garden as the old hen wanted to wander around a bit. So I had to occupy my time while she wandered.
The horseradish leaves were no longer smelly and slimy, but dry and snapped right off at the ground. I was just going to do one plant, but she was having such a good time so I did all 100 sq ft of them.
Then I had to pull the old tomato stalks, and as long as I had the rake I decided I may as well rake out the beds and pick up all the winter trash and leaves and put up the irrigation ends.
So it's ready for pre-emergent grass control behind the grapevines, and some soil amendments to the beds.
The horseradish is up about 2 inches. Hearty stuff.
I have decided that where an orchard tree dies, a hazel tree is going in. Sick of babying these *&^% trees that do NOTHING year after year.
