What did you do in the garden today?

Windrows done. Feels like 110°F much worse in the direct sun. I'll bale next, but this evening.

Before I bought my food mill I would slice the tomatoes and scrape the seeds out with my thumb. I kept as much of the jelly as I could because it has good flavor. I’ve never noticed a bitter flavor from the tomato skins and I just cooked them up along with the rest of the tomatoes. Life is easier with the food mill. The food mill takes out the toughest part of the skin along with the seeds. If I list my food mill I would just get another. A little hot today. Air quality not too bad. Yesterday I put epsom salts down on the plants that were clearly getting too much water. Some of the corn is waist high now. The squash in the corn patch are getting big quick. Hopefully I’ll get some summer squash this year. The butternut squash flowers are finally in sync so hopefully I’ll get a good crop from that. The tomatoes are developing on all the plants now. I also picked another 6 ounces of green beans this morning.

Possible severe t-storm here, so I'm staying inside. The air was/is hazy with wildfire smoke, and my upper chest hurts anyway.

I did move my garlic into the garage. High winds are one of the dangers. Not that high, but enough to flip the garlic table over if the wind caught it just right. Not taking any chances with my garlic.
Thank you for the reminder - I need to braid my garlic & call it done. I'll save the biggest to plant in the fall.

It's crazy how hot the world is right now! Well, the northern part, lol. We have heat advisories up. & thunderstorm warnings for the next couple days. I'll have to get up early for work & go out & water the next few days, can't do it in the heat!

I would also go out & buy a new food mill - I love that thing! I mainly use it for hot sauce, it pulls the skin & seeds out when I make it for DH & then I use them as red pepper flakes. I stopped canning tomatoes a few years ago when I realized I could never grow/can enough for us so I end up buying anyway. Now I just grow a few of them to eat.
