What did you do in the garden today?

Daughter got it from a coworker who had been to Hawaii on vacation; in just a few days it had spread to all of us but the teenager.
When covid first came out I got sick and ate a lot of raw basil. The basil seemed to have antibacterial properties. It's my go to if I feel something coming on. I also believe in Emergen-C flavored fizzy drink mix from Costco. I think Costco uses it as a lost leader like their roast chicken. Walmart stop carrying them, maybe because Costco was giving it away at cost as a community service.

I have EmergenC on hand and started taking it when my daughter was exposed but that didn’t stop it. Also increased my vitamin D intake. Could be why I have pretty mild symptoms. Our Walmart carries EmergenC, I don’t like the fizzy drink but take the gummies instead.

@igorsMistress i also used the antiviral medicine when I had Covid last year. I ended up having a rebound Covid after I was finished with the medication. Hubby was on it too but he didn’t have the rebound effect.
Hopefully you and your hubby won’t have the rebound effect either!🤞
Thanks Karen! Ugh, I’m sorry you went through that, hope it wasn’t too bad? I’ve read about the rebound so I’m still taking extra C and D and hoping for the best.

Nothing in the garden today. I saw my doctor earlier. Routine checkup. Taking it easy because the heat is nasty. Currently 88F. Fortunately there is a light breeze right now while I’m sitting with the chickens. Tomorrow I will water everything and pick tomatoes, beans and maybe an okra pod. Last night and today’s lunch was a cold pasta salad made with home grown vegetables and basil pesto from last year. I really need to pick some basil and make a fresh batch. Tonight I’m finally getting my home grown BLT. However, the lettuce is actually fresh mustard greens. I’m hoping to get a peek at the chicken run frame I bought before it gets too hot tomorrow morning. It’s supposed to hit 90F tomorrow. Yuck. I don’t know if I’ll be making pickles this season, but this gives me a little hope.
